      we're in a unique moment where millions of people are turning to rent strikes, perhaps for the first time. rent strikes are powerful tactics. but the reason they are powerful is *BECAUSE* they are risky. you can't win big things without taking risks -- no one ever has. 2/7

      it's not right that anyone should have to pay rent right now or that anyone should be evicted, ever. that much is clear to many more people today than it was a week ago. but the foundation of our "democracy" is built around property rights, not around people....4/7

      we're all a lot closer to being homeless than we are to being billionaires, but we don't usually act like it. especially white folks who are recognizing for the first time, in the last decade, that "homeownership" might be a trap or just impossible. 6/7

      anyway. the point is. now is a time to welcome new rent strikers with open arms, and now is a time for training, political education and deepening our commitment to each other, and taking risks together, because it's not going to be an easy fight. it's exciting! 7/7
